Winter Weather Update:
So Laurel County missed on school today due to ice, after the ice things changed over to mainly rain, and should stay that way until tomorrow morning. I think we change it back over to snow sometime Wednesday morning, maybe just after noon. I have no changes to my precip type maps, just wish I would've kept the snow line a little lower on my 2nd set, but overall I think they did a fairly decent job of telling the story of what would happen today.
Anyways we in Laurel County are now out of Winter Storm Warning, but it remains just off to our north. Here's the latest map.
And here's a map with the Flood Watch (Counties in Green) we are under due to the heavy rain.
That watch means the heavy rain we've seen today and tomorrow morning could cause some flooding issues, so if you live in a flood prone area, keep an eye out for rising water.
And finally tonight an updated snow totals map, this is going to be total snow and sleet on top of what we've already seen, through Thursday moring.
I'll have one more update later tonight to update the situation and a guess on whether or not the weather will prevent school in Laurel county again tomorrow. In the mean time, KY Mesonet has your hook up for the temepratures, and Intellicast radar.
UPDATE: Upped the Highs for tomorrow due to the newest RUC data.
