Snowstorm Potential!

Rising like the phoenix from the ashes... or like Godzilla coming out of the sea, the blog is back and ready to take some names because we have a snow storm heading out way.

Let's get right down to business shall we? A big time low pressure is firing up in the deep south as I type this, and will head our way. It's bringing a lot of moisture our way, but we already have cold air in place... that's a recipe for some winter fun and games.

Let's show you what my good friend the 12z NAM is showing for us.

Friday Night:

Saturday AM:

Saturday PM:

That's showing a big time snow storm rolling across southern KY and Southern WV. Let's take a look at how much snow I think we're going to see:

These totals are subject to change I feel confident as far as KY goes... WV could go higher especially around Beckley and Oak Hill. I was taking tomorrow off but I'm back on the air tomorrow morning. Good luck everyone and hope you get as much snow as you want!

Update: Winter Storm Watches now up for parts of Eastern KY!

I think the 3-6" line is too far west...no way will Laurel, Pulaski,Rockcastle,Madison,Lincoln,Casey counties see that much snow...more like 1-3" for those counties if that much...closer to 1"...Even JKL and LMK think the Lake Cumberland area won't see much at all. But the eastern part looks right on cue!

You've been gone to long Shane! Bout time you got the blog up and going. Man you are gonna get nailed with snow in your area in WV. Wish we could see half of that over here in the London/Somerset area. Thanks for updating the blog!
